2025
St Veronica’s Thrift Shop relies on your quality donations to help us raise much needed funds for the many projects in which we are involved both overseas and locally.
Our shop is often described as an “old fashioned” op shop with a happy mix of anything and everything, and we happily accept all kinds of items that are in good, clean and saleable condition.
As a general rule - if you would be happy giving your donation to a good friend, we will happily and gratefully accept it. There are some items, however, that we are unable to accept
PLEASE DO NOT DONATE
- Furniture and large items - we are a small shop with no storage space
- State and Federal consumer laws and some insurance requirements mean that we cannot sell some items. These include -
- electrical goods, computers etc - anything requiring a power point
- used baby goods - car seats, portacots, high chairs etc
- anything with wheels - baby walkers, strollers, bikes, roller blades, skateboards
- helmets of any kind
- bean bags
- Ripped , torn , soiled, stained or mouldy clothing and household linen - these are unsaleable, as well as being a health hazard for our volunteers.
- Broken or chipped homewares, rusty cookware
- Textbooks - these quickly become outdated, and are a storage issue.
It can take many volunteer hours to sort through, and then dispose of donations that we are unable to sell.
PLEASE DONATE
EVERYTHING ELSE THAT IS IN GOOD, CLEAN AND SALEABLE CONDITION - including, but not limited to -
- Vintage treasures and everything quirky and interesting ( our favourite donations)
- Clothing and accessories including bags, shoes, hats, jewellery - clean, without stains, tears, broken zips etc
- Homewares including
- sheets, towels blankets etc - clean, without stains or tears
- kitchenware, crockery, china, glassware, bric a brac - clean without chips or stains
- Books, DVDs, CDs
- Toys, games, puzzles - complete and in good condition
If you are unsure, or would like more information, please call us on 38447423, and we will be happy to help
Please note that we are unable to collect donations. Donations are accepted when the shop is open. It is against the law to leave donations on the footpath when the shop is closed.
With many thanks
The St Veronica Thrift Shop Volunteers
